HOBOKEN Sabbatical Journey April 2010
We have just returned from our first Sabbatical visit, and what a visit it was! Laurie Shelton, Linda DeBrango, JoAnn Meehan, Cynda Judy and Lynn Kowalenko made the trip. Laurie, Linda and I met with Dr. Michelle White to work on the matrix, while the rest of our crew spoke with a wonderful young man named Craig who oversees the after school program at the Jubilee center. Dr. White (who is a deacon, about to become ordained) is one of the most exciting people I've ever met. Creative, articulate and most of all energetic. While we were interviewing her, she was also interviewing us, getting a feel for our community and coming up with ideas for programs for us!! The Jubilee center runs many programs besides the after school program (which includes hot meals for the 100 or so children donated by a different restaurant every day. Imagine...)
