Requirements

• PSA = OSP (Positive Student Attitude = Outstanding Student Performance)

• WORK (This requires self-discipline. When something is assigned it needs to be completed by the assigned date. NO EXCUSES.

• Respectful behavior (ex. One person talks at a time, no use of profanity or eating in class)

• Be Responsible (When you are absent it is your duty to get the notes, assignments or materials you missed and make up the missed tests and quizzes. I will not track you down to make up work. Assignments not made up will become zeros.)

• Lateness is not Acceptable (All work needs to be completed by the assigned date.)

• Be ready to start when the bell rings.

• Make sure to have your  pen (Always have something to write with in this class), notebook & textbook every class(You will lose points for lack of preparedness for class)

• Participate in class (Do not sit in the stands and watch.)

• DO NOT USE YOUR CELLPHONES IN CLASS!! (Use of your cell phone in and during class will negatively affect your grade.)

• OPEN MINDS.

• Macbook Rules apply!!

Supplies

• Notebook/ Binder (whatever your preference)
• Folder
• Blue or Black pens (NO work will be accepted in pencil)

Graded Work

There will be at least one News Article assignment per marking period.

There will be at least one Class Project during the marking period.

There will be chapter tests and other tests during the marking period.

There will be chapter and other quizzes given during the marking period.

There will also be regular assigned homework/classwork during the course of the marking period.

There will be a midterm exam.

There will be a final exam**

There is and will be NO extra credit.

Course Grade

The marking period grade is based on the following three main categories.

• Homework/classwork (40%)
• Quizzes (30%)
• Tests(30%)

**Classroom participation is also an important factor in computing the marking period grade**

• Your grade for the year will be based on the following: 20% First marking Period

                                                                                                20% Third marking Period

                                                                                                20% Fourth marking Period                      

                                                                                                10% Midterm Grade

                                                                                                 10% Final exam Grade**
